Over 300 people showed up for the first Dayton Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 15th.
The event was hosted by Ohio Families unite Against police brutality, Ohio Families for Political Action and Change, the Fudge Foundation and the Dayton Anti-Racist Network. It was also a day to honor those whose lives were lost through police brutality.
State Representative candidate for the Ohio House District 39, Dion Green, was also in attendance. During the event Green talked to community members regarding his platform and what he hopes to bring to the statehouse, while also taking the time to listen to community members on what issues they feel are important.
In the end, community members enjoyed an array of entertainment, political education, free food and more. The next community appreciation day is set for June 15th, 2024, also taking place in Dayton, Ohio.
